Vinification Details: This wine is unoaked and we seek to capture pure varietal expression. Small concentrated berries are de-stemmed upon arrival at the winery. Fermentation on the grape skins at 23 degrees c, Pump over twice daily to aerate the fermenting wine. Post Malo-lactic fermentation the wine is held on fine lees prior to bottling.
History: Chenin Blanc has history dating back to the ninth century, famed for its premium wines in Loire Valley, France, South Africa now sits as the biggest producer of this variety. Probably one of the world most versatile grapes, it can produce great entry level wines right through to premium styles and dessert wine, as well as withstanding oak & ageing.
